Review from XNPlay

Tomato Blaster has been reviewed by XNPlay.

"... For anyone who likes to strain their grey matter at the same time as watching a tomato rolling around blowing stuff up (and who doesn’t?) then 400 points isn’t too much to spend, especially when you consider the endless possibilities the level editor, which is just as easy to use and powerful as the one in N+, it is almost a bargain, almost."

Tomato Blaster is a Hot Pie!

E-mail Print PDF

Tomato Blaster has been reviewed by IGN as part of their weekly XNA review (XNA Communal Shower), they had the following to say:

"Another simple idea that was pulled off well, Tomato Blaster is a fun little puzzle game tasking you with just navigating mazes, scooping up all the coins in a level to open an exit. The ability to use the simple AI of "mangos" that always try to roll toward you (even if walls are in the way) to trigger switches and traverse one-way arrows harkens back to the 8-bit puzzler days and really is a lot of fun. Stuff like teleporters or opening gates with colored switches also helps break things up and keeps the puzzles fresh. Good stuff."

Completely Pointless Calculations

E-mail Print PDF

Tomato Blaster is now out and I'm not going to know how many sales I have until around the end of March. So in the meantime I thought I would do some completely pointless calculations to work out the money I'll (probably not) earn...

Each copy of Tomato Blaster which is sold will earn me about £1.67. This is calculated from: £3.40 (400 Points) * 0.7 (Microsoft's 30% cut) * 0.7 (30% withholding tax). Also note there are about 28 million Xbox 360's in the world.

Therefore the following is true (ish)...

100 Copies = £167
1,197 Copies
(0.004% of 360 Owners) = £2,000 - This kind of covers what I think my time is worth for the 100 hours I put into it.
23,952 Copies (0.086% of 360 Owners) = £40,000 - 2 year old Aston Martin V8 Vantage :-)
104,790 Copies (0.37% of 360 Owners) = £175,000 - Pays off all my debts including mortgage, plus a bit of spending money.
598,802 Copies (2.14% of 360 Owners) = £1m - Makes me a millionaire! hahaha

So to help me achieve my completely unrealistic £1m goal (or should that be completely unrealistic £2000 goal) please go and buy Tomato Blaster now!
